Estimating surface runoff using the curve number method in an ungauged watershed in Jalisco, Mexico evaluating its morphometric parameters

The surface runoff was estimated using the curve number (CN) method for different storm events and it associated with morphometric parameters of an ungauged watershed in Jalisco, México. land use cover map from 2019 derived unsupervised classification a Sentinel-2 image at 10 m resolution. analysis revealed that study area is dominated by areas gentle slope moderate to high permeability dense vegetation low relief. It well-drained flood potentiality as well groundwater potential zone. About 69% corresponds natural tropical dry forest evergreen most representative classes. A total 77 were identified 2013 2019, runoffs ranged 0.05 227.2 Mm3. September October months intense rainfall and, therefore, highest volume. average 14.52 Mm3, corresponding coefficient 12.86%. Together, methods used here provide useful results delineating conservation strategies level.
